Interactive energy monitoring (Concept)

Current energy meters display usage through a small numerical display - what the numbers don’t always give is tangibility to the level of energy being used.

The concept monitor still displays wattage - but projects it on a ceiling or wall when high energy levels are being used - as energy usage increases, so does the overwhelming size of the display giving a sense of scale and urgency to the power being used. In addition, an illuminated colour scale gives a simple and more widely recognised method to show household efficiency. The concept also aims to introduce a fun and interactive element to reducing your carbon footprint, especially for younger members of the household.

Made from re-used wood floorboard (stand and base), re-used ketchup bottles (colour scale) and re-cycled phone covers (projector body).
